New England Executive Office Centers is an association of independently owned and operated Executive Suites (a.k.a Executive Office centers, Office Business Centers or Shared Office Centers). We share best practices in order to provide our clients with the premier Office Center experience at a reasonable price. We also extend the use of our individual facilities to the clients of other member facilities at preferred rates.
Is the Executive Office Center a New Concept?
The Office Business Center as an institution dates back about 30 years, with some Executive Suites popping up in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. The industry expanded in the early 1980’s and then leveled during the real estate recession in the latter part of that decade. Currently, the field is made up of local, regional, and large international firms. The concept is growing with 440 centers nationally and 5500 worldwide.
Why should I be in an Executive Center instead of traditional office space?
Securing traditional office space can be very costly. First, there is the monthly cost of a lease or mortgage payment. Next, consider the high costs of office construction and furniture. Of course, there are additional fees for utilities, janitorial service and building maintenance. Now, factor in the purchase and maintenance of office equipment (computers, copier, facsimile machines, telephone systems, etc.) and staff salaries. Add to that any number of other miscellaneous expenses or unexpected events, a broken copier or loss of an employee for example, and productivity plummets, while astronomical becomes the best word to describe your monetary outlay.
Am I required to sign a long-term lease?
No, you are not. In fact, NEEOC member centers offer agreements ranging from month-to-month up to several years. Hourly and daily rates are available for conference room use and even offices at some NEEOC member centers.
If my company has an existing virtual private network (VPN), can I connect from an Executive Office Center?
Yes, each center can provide clients with a high-speed internet connection that makes it very easy to your company’s protected site. By entering just a few quick settings on your computer, you can connect quickly and securely.
What if I am happy with my current space, but I could use a more professional image and occasional administrative support?
We can help you with that, too! New England Executive Office Centers offer Virtual Office Packages. These packages can include an array or services; anything from a professional mailing address and conference facilities to meet with your clients, to a full program that includes phone answering with voice mail, a mailing address, conference facilities and use of the business equipment. Then, if and when you are ready to become a full time resident of the Executive Office Center, the telephone number and mailing address are already in place.
